This came from my mother. I have no idea when or how it came to her.She apparently had it gone through and repaired in 1999. The written info is on the back of the watch mans business card that did it for her. I just took it a couple weeks ago to the old watch man that I know whos been repairing watches and clocks since he was a young man. He opened it for me and told me all about it. I took the inside photos then.
He also showed me the picture in his book of the duplex mechanism. As he was checking it all over for me he explained that it winds the opposite of most pocket watches. It works fine and is really an incredibly lovely piece! It has a sweet enameled pin that allows it to hang on it to be worn optionally as a pin. These were made first by Waterbury and then the New England Watch Co.
(there being little difference between the two companies). They were a modestly priced watch and offered with a tremendous variety of case and dial combinations. The N models are 6S, have 4 jewels and enamel dials and cases of 10K, 14K, sterling, coin, GF, nickel and plated.
These are NOT "dollar watches" but merely a humble grade which must have competed well against comparable 7 jewel grades by Elgin and Waltham if the large number of survivors is any indication. UBER Packing so your parcel arrives intact! All of our offerings are Smoke Free - Were very receptive to offers....
Offering half of the price goods are listed for is definitely insulting. It will get you nowhere with us. Youre supporting good people in a difficult time. We can likely accommodate you. The post office has been a hot mess for the past 3 years! Please know we have no control over this.
